DEFINITION OF PERSONAL DATA

Personal Data refers to data about an individual who can be identified from that data, or from that data and other information to which the organization has or is likely to have access.

PERSONAL DATA REQUIRES EXTRA CARE

We do not collect any special categories of Personal Data in Singapore including NRIC numbers, passport information, Foreign Identification Number, birth certificate in addition to special categories identified in Sekisui House's privacy policy.

ORGANISATION AND DPO

Sekisui House is the data intermediary which is an organization who collects your Personal Data and responsible for your Personal Data collected.

We have appointed a data protection officer (“DPO”) who is responsible for overseeing questions in relation to this privacy policy. If you have any questions about this privacy policy, including any requests to exercise your legal rights, please contact our DPO using the details set out below.

PURPOSE OF PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING

We will appropriately collect, use and/or disclose your Personal Data to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes identified in the privacy policy. We will notify you of the purposes for which your Personal Data is collected, used, or disclosed at or before the time of collection, in accordance with the requirements of PDPA, where applicable.

YOUR CONSENT

We will obtain your consent before collecting, using or disclosing your Personal Data, unless such collection, use or disclosure is permitted or required by law without consent. You may limit our collecting, using and/or disclosing of your Personal Data by expressly withdrawing your consent given to us by contacting our DPO in accordance with the “INQUIRY” section below, subject to any applicable legal restrictions and contractual conditions, and provided you give notice to us within a reasonable time period that you withdraw your consent.

ACCESS AND CORRECTION

If you are a resident of Singapore, you may request to access, correct and/or update your Personal Data we retain by contacting us using the contact details on the "INQUIRY." However, we will verify that you are the subject of the Personal Data and will consider the validity of the request to determine our response, therefore we may refuse your request as a result of such consideration or if we are legally permitted to do so. We may also charge you a reasonable fee in accordance with the PDPA and its regulations to verify, investigate, research, or review your request to access your Personal Data. For the avoidance of doubt, we will not charge you a fee in respect of your request to correct and/or update your Personal Data.

DISCLOSURE TO THIRD PARTIES

We may disclose your Personal Data to the following persons:

1. entities within the Sekisui House Group, including our affiliated companies and subsidiaries in different jurisdictions, third party service providers and business partners who cooperate with us, including authorised dealers, distributors and suppliers;
2. potential or actual purchasers or investors (including their agents and advisers) in connection with any actual or proposed purchase or sale of business, disposal, merger or acquisition or re-organization of any part of our business;
3. any government departments or agencies, statutorily incorporated bodies, public corporations, regulators, enforcement bodies, courts or any other third parties whom we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations and to exercise our legal rights;
4. your current or past employers, education or training institutions and examining bodies, and employment and recruitment agencies; and
5. any other person you consent to disclose, subject to applicable laws and regulations.

We will not provide or disclose your Personal Data to third parties other than the above persons without your prior consent, unless otherwise required by law.

CROSS-BORDER TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA

Your Personal Data may be transferred to, stored or processed outside of Singapore. We will only transfer your Personal Data overseas in accordance with the PDPA and will ensure that overseas organizations we work with observe strict confidentiality and are subject to data protection obligations. In particular, we will ensure that the overseas organisations we transfer your Personal Data to will provide a standard of protection comparable to the protection under the PDPA (including by ensuring that such requirement is included in binding contracts with the recipients of the Personal Data so transferred or ensuring that such requirement is included in binding internal policies of the Sekisui House Group where the recipient will be a group company).

BREACH OF PERSONAL DATA

In the event of a data breach of your Personal Data (“Breach”), we will promptly conduct an assessment of whether the Breach is notifiable to the Personal Data Protection Commission (“PDPC”) in accordance with the PDPA. If the Breach is notifiable to the PDPC, we will also notify you of the occurrence of the Breach in accordance with the PDPA.

CHANGE TO THIS ADDENDUM

We reserve the right to modify and update this Privacy Policy at any time to ensure it is consistent with industry trends and/or any changes in legal or regulatory requirements.
